Arlan Dean Odom passed away peacefully on February 10, 2021 leaving his beloved Quogue, NY with the beautiful ocean breezes that he loved so much. He is now resting peacefully with his beloved wife Ruth Ann (Golding) Odom of 60 years and his son Clet Odom. Arlan was born to Jess and Eula Mae (Frizzell) Odom in Altus, OK on March 2, 1938. He moved with his family to Brownfield, TX where he spent his formative years. It was at Brownfield High School that he met his boxing coach, Tom Adams, who was a big influence in his life. Under Coach Adams leadership Arlan became a competitive golden glove boxer in both featherweight and lightweight divisions winning 50 of 52 fights in his career. In 1955 he joined the United States Airforce and in 1957 was assigned to the 52nd Fighter Group at Suffolk County Air Force Base West Hampton Beach; Long Island, NY where he was Honorably discharged in 1959. It was here (1958) that Arlan met his wife of 60 years and made his home in Quogue, NY. He retired from a 50-year career at Union Local 1298 as a Fund Administrator. He spent his later years traveling with his beloved wife, Ruth Ann, to different parts of the United States visiting his siblings, nieces and nephews, and friends. He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in the world and enjoyed watching them in their activities and sporting events as they grew up. He is survived by daughters Robin Fowler and Donna Combs; son-in-law Kevin Combs; grandchildren Luke Combs, Shane Combs, and Dylan Fowelr; siblings Kay Jeffries, Bob and Susan Odom; brother and sisters -in-law Donald and Marty Golding, and Betty Odom. He is proceeded in death by his wife Ruth Ann Odom; son Clet Odom; parents Jess and Eula Mae Odom; siblings Troy Bryan Odom, Jessie Arron Odom, Laura Mae Clark, James Roy “Jimmy” Odom, Winston Odom and Linda Odom; sister-in-law Peggy Odom; nieces DeLynn Jeffries and Twyla Clark; and nephew Troy Jr. Odom. A memorial service will be held at Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home 60 Mill Rd., Westhampton Beach, NY 4/16/21 4-7p.m. followed by a Graveside Side Service 4/17/21 11 a.m. at the Quogue Cemetery 58 Lamb Ave, Quogue, NY 11978

Dian traveled with Marvin to Germany while he served in the Army, shortly after being married. Dian obtained a Master of Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University. She worked for the Region 17 Service Center for 17 years and was a business service accountant. She helped Marvin start and build Dawson Electric and Refrigeration, which they ran for 30 years. Dian was passionate about her crafts, birds and dogs. She was the architect and designer of the house they built together in 2018. She was a member of the Spencer Theater in Ruidoso, New Mexico and always enjoyed going to the shows there. Dian is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and her father Stanley Miller. Dian is survived by her son, Michael and wife Pebble, one grandson, Mason and three granddaughters, Mallori, Swayde Roberts and Jaci Roberts, one great granddaughter, Autumn; her sister Vickie Coker of Lubbock and her mother, Zelma Miller of Brownfield, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Read moreMorris “Gene” Rowden, 90, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Gene was born in Brownfield, Texas to Johnny Carrol Rowden and Azrue Pickett. Gene was a resident of San Angelo for 55 years. He was in the Air Force and served as a Chief Master Sergeant for 30 years. He also served as the President of Board of Directors for First Community Credit Union. One of many of his hobbies included collecting stamps for more than 65 years. Gene was a member of the Lions Club for 55 years and also served as the President for many years. Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Syble Glyndola and his son, Michael Rowden. Survivors include his children, Boyd Rowden, Brett Rowden and wife Patricia; grandchildren, Jason Rowden, Matt Reel, Caitlin Mocchetti, Michelle Rowden; great-grandchildren Camry Reel and William Reel; brother, Lee Dale Rowden. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way. Chris Harlan started her journey on October 31, 1942, in Fresno, CA, to Gloyd and Willie Cloe. She married the love of her life, Billy Ray Harlan, on August 30, 1958 in El Paso, TX. Chris worked as a bank teller at Brownfield State Bank and Seagraves State Bank. She was an avid gardener and loved cooking for family and friends. Chris loved Jesus and loved singing in the choir and cooking fruit pies. Her greatest joy was her family and being “Mom” only became sweeter when she became “Nana.” Chris Harlan was proceeded in death by her parents, Gloyd and Willie Cloe, and, son, James Ray Harlan. Chris is survived by husband Billy Ray Harlan of Seagraves, TX; son, Bobby Harlan and wife Karen of Seagraves, TX; daughter, Christine Stucks and husband Stan of Odessa, TX; daughter, Cathy Crow and husband Benny of Seagraves, TX; brothers, Chuck Cloe and Bob Cloe; grandchildren, Brad Harlan, Crystal Barton, Alishia Wyman, Kyle Crow, Candace Searcy, and Kyra Crow; and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Harlan, Brandon Barton, Ross Wyman, Kyle Crow, Jarod Searcy, and Beau Barton. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s. Family visitation was from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Ratliff Funeral Home, 312 12 th St., Seagraves, TX. Funeral Services were held at First Assembly of God, Seagraves, TX, on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with burial services following at the Gaines County Seagraves Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Karen, her husband, Brian Skaggs and one son, Dillon Skaggs.Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Justin Skaggs and Derek Skaggs; brothers, Gary Shaun Bishop, Ty Chandler; sister, Kelly Gibson; 14 grand-children, 8 nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Matt Bayer.
