Graveside services for Joe Mac Sears were held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Terry County Memorial Cemeterty. A memorial service was held following at 2:30 pm at First Christian Church in Brownfield with Rev. Josh Puckett officiating. A family visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Brownfield Funeral Home. Joe Mac Sears was born to Louise and Odell Sears of Brownfield in Lub bock on January 6, 1955. Joe’s family attended First Baptist Church where Joe accepted Jesus Christ in 1965. Joe attended Brownfield Schools, graduating in 1972. He attended Texas Tech University, graduating with a public relations degree in 1977. After graduations, Joe returned to Brownfield and worked as assistant manager for Odell’s Hardware and Gifts until it closed in 1991. Joe then worked as a sales representative in the gift department for the Dallas Trade Mart. In 1977 Joe became Manager of the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce. He later held several jobs locally in retail business such as Bayless Jewelry. He began substitute teaching for the Brownfield School District, which led him to pursue a degree in education. He loved working in the schools and later worked as a teacher aide in the Brownfield High School history and special education classes. His mother always noted that Joe loved music. When he was a baby, music on the radio or TV captivated him. He would immediately turn his head and stand still to listen. That love of music followed him throughout his life. He took piano lessons for many years as well as organ lessons. In school Joe was a member of the BHS band and participated in church choirs at the First Baptist Church. At Texas Tech, he was active in many choral productions. Joe was a long-time member, elder, and organist for the First Christian Church. Like his parents, Joe was an avid Texas Tech men’s basketball fan. Joe has been active in the community for many years. Joe was a member of the city council for eight years. He was a member of the Rotary Club, serving as president and was president of the American Heart Association in Terry County, and member of the Terry County Museum Board. He was a long-time Chair of the Terry County Democratic Party. One highlight of his political service was driving Hillary Clinton around Lubbock when she visited. At his death Joe was a member and elder of the First Christian Church and the Terry County Historical Commission and Terry County Cemetery Association Board. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Louise Sears. He is survived by his sister Susan Sears Roberts, brother-in-law Chris and step-niece Alison Roberts Henry and her husband Aaron and son Ethan. He is also survived by many cousins and second cousins and many friends in Brownfield. The family requests that donations be made to the Matt Adams Scholarship Endowment for Men’s Basketball, Brownfield’s First Christian Church, and Terry County Cemetery Association.

Alberto was a hard-working man whose life revolved around his children. He enjoyed the outdoors and being around his family and friends. Donnie graduated from Levelland High School and then went on to get his bachelor’s from Texas Tech in accounting. He worked as a comptroller for Goodpasture’s for most of his working career. He married Nancy Ross on August 29, 1992 in Brownfield. He was a member of the Brownfield First Baptist Church, served on the board for Brownfield Regional Medical Center, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Hospice of Lubbock and was a Big Brother. Donnie was a big supporter of Texas Tech, the American Heart Association, and the Susan G. Komen foundation. He is preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings. Donnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his life. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wade; seven children, Scott Wade and wife, Kami, of Levelland, Jana Royal and husband, Barry, of Levelland, Michael Ross and wife, Sheralyn, of Nogal, NM, Jana Daniel and husband, Loy, of Brownfield, Jeff Ross and wife, Carol, of Lubbock, Mark Ross and partner, Liz Elmquist, of Austin, Joel Ross and wife, Shirlene, of New Braunfels; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Opal Tugwell and husband, Don, of Levelland. He also took care of the livestock at Girls Town, USA. He also was a farmer, working along side his son Clayton. Charles enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Charles went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 7, 2021.His father preceded him in death. He attended school in Wellman and was a 1963 graduate of Wellman High School. He was a member of the Wellman First Baptist Church. He served for several years on the Wellman ISD school board. He was a farmer in Terry, Yoakum and Gaines counties. He served on the Wellman Co-op Gin Board. Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Liston “Lick” Otis and Ruby Lee Moorhead, his brother Johnny Ray Moorhead, and a daughter Bridget Ann Moorhead. Howard is survived by his children; Michael and his wife Susanne Moorhead of Splendora, Leslie and his wife Tammie Moorhead of Wellman, Samantha Moorhead of Abilene, Tabatha Hodges of Willow Park, Tiffany Clark and husband Tim of Weatherford, and Russell Moorhead of Cedar Park. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Brandy Mace, Kyle Moorhead, Jessica Shouse, Stetson Hodges, Taylor Hodges, Preston Clark and Parker Clark. He is survived by a great-grandson, Lane Hodges. He is also survived by an aunt and a niece, two nephews, and numerous cousins.
