Jessie P. Perez

We sadly lost an amazing man on Sunday, November 22, 2020 when Jessie P. Perez known as “Quate” passed away. Jessie was born on September 15,1945 in Spur TX. He was 75 years young. Jessie is survived by his beloved wife Maria Elva Perez of 53 years, his daughters Andrea Madrigal (George), Christina Marines (Christopher) and his son Andrew Gongora ( Kia). He also leaves to cherish his memory, 9 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, and 1 sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 great-grandchild. Jessie’s memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with. He was a kind man with a big heart.

Unique process ‘cleans’ crop water runoff when using dairy manure as fertilizer

The project’s lead scientist is Eun Sung Kan, Ph.D., an AgriLife Research biological engineer at the AgriLife Research center at Stephenville with joint appointments in Texas A&M’s Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and at Tarleton State University. Kan concentrates his research on using a unique biochar he has developed to transform wastewater into water for agricultural needs.

CUBS OUTLAST TIGERS IN DOUBLE OT WIN

After losing the first game of a back to back, the Brownfield boys’ basketball team returned home to face Snyder. The Cubs were coming off an overall bad performance in a 71-38 loss to Hereford and looked to bounce back at home. Brownfield and Snyder needed two extra quarters to determine a winner, with the Cubs holding on for a 59-58 win to snap a two-game losing streak.

Lady Cubs win back to back road games

The Brownfield girls’ basketball team followed up its 73-60 win over Tascosa with a 65-40 win over Lubbock Estacado on Tuesday. With the win, the Lady Cubs remain unbeaten with the last two wins coming on the road in back to back games.

The Meadow girls’ basketball team played back-to-back road games against Cotton Center on Monday and Morton on Tuesday with the Lady Broncos winning both games. The Lady Broncos defeated Cotton Center 38-21 and Morton 42-25.

The Meadow boys’ basketball team played back to back road games against Cotton Center on Monday and Morton on Tuesday, with the Broncos winning both games. The Broncos defeated Cotton Center 44-33 and won 42-30 over Morton.
