Rollover sends one to hospital

Brownfield Fire and Rescue were called out early Saturday morning Nov 28 to a car accident located at north US 385 and FM 211, in the community of Needmore. According to TxDPS, the one-vehicle accident involved a late model white Hyundai Elantra driven by Alicia Sanchez of Meadow. Sanchez was headed north on US 385 and as she approached the intersection at FM 211 she attempted to turn right on FM 211, however, the brakes did not work properly. Sanchez lost control of the Hyundai and it flipped over on its left side on the north side of FM 211 next to Needmore Gin. When the vehicle slid, it hit a large hole, which caused the vehicle to flip end to end (front to rear) and land upside down. Sanchez was able to escape the vehicle and walk to a home nearby on FM 211 where she was able to get help. Sanchez then returned to the scene of the accident to wait for EMS and law enforcement. Sanchez was transported by BRMC EMS to the BRMC Emergency Room for minor injuries and observation. DPS, Terry Co. Sheriff’s Dept., Brownfield Fire & Rescue, and Meadow Fire Dept. responded to the scene.
