They are shooting hoops at The Brownfield Basketball camps this summer. The goal? To get everyone on the court! Both girls and boys basketball camps started this past week on Monday, June 13 and ended on Wednesday, June 16. Coach McPherson and Coach Wyatt are leading the way at these camps and are teaching everything they know about basketball and the fundamentals of the sport.
Read moreThe Brownfield Summer Track Camp hosted a track meet with multiple schools and programs attending the event. Kids as young as three and as old as 18 attended the event on Tuesday, June 14. Some of the schools that included were Midland Greenwood, Borden County and Wellman-Union. In total about 180 kids competed in the track meet. Ribbons were given out for each heat of every race and were given to places 1st-5th.

Read moreThe Lady Cubs softball team had a year to remember going an impressive 23-9-1 in the regular season and 8-2 in district. The teams all around success this season was no secret, the fully stacked team all around the diamond gave the Lady Cubs a leg up on most opponents. The Lady Cubs would breeze past Kermit and eliminated them, outscoring Kermit 24-1. With only 3 graduating seniors in 2022 the Lady Cubs softball team looks to bounce back with full force After getting knocked off by Idalou in the second round of the playoffs 2 years in a row. New head Softball coach Brea Guerrero coming from New Home High school has a plethora of talented all district players returning on the roster. One of the key returns Guerrero has in her arsenal is co-district MVP pitcher Brianne Franco. There are 11 total all district players taken from The Lady Cub roster, 8 of them will be returning for Guerrero.

At the top of the first inning the Cubs struggled to put a competitive pitcher on the mound. Going through two pitchers in the inning the Cubs pitching would walk 6 batters all together. This would ultimately result in 6 runs across home plate. The score going into the bottom of the first inning was 6-0 Roosevelt. Here come the Cubs, The Cubs decided they didn’t want to be down by 6 anymore and put up 6 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning. Leaving the first inning with an even score of 6-6.
