Head coach Eric Morin set the tone for game 2 by giving his team a stern talk Before the start of the game. Coach Morin came in with a different coaching style than he normally HAS in the regular season. His laid-backapproach changed to a much more aggressive hands-on approach as The Cubs were facing elimination after losing game one to Alpine in a possible 3 game series.

Brownfield ISD boys athletes gathered with their coaches on Wednesday, April 27 to hold the Boot-camp Draft. The purpose of the Boot-camp is to help build team camaraderie and get the boys more comfortable with each other. The draft was set up as an NFL style draft for the first round. There were eight coaches with eight teams. The coaches got together for the first 15 minutes and decided who they would draft as captains.

Niko Castaneda is going to state to compete at Austin in the shot put. Castaneda threw an impressive 47’ ½” in the regional track meet at South Plains College on Friday, April 29.

The Cubs played Littlefield on Friday, April 29 and struggled to connect with the ball throughout the game. The Cubs lost 13-1 to Littlefield as they prepared to take on Alpine in a possible 3 game series.

The Lady Cubs are coming off of a 24-1 victory over Kermit. Advancing the Lady Cubs to play Idalou in round 2 of the playoffs on Thursday, May 5th and Friday, May 6th at Lubbock Cooper. On Thursday the Lady Cubs will take the field at 6:30 P.M. and on Friday the Lady Cubs will take the field at the 6:30 P.M. as well. If it is necessary the Lady Cubs could possibly play a third game. The third game will be played 30 min after the second game if necessary.
