The Brownfield Powerlifting team competed at home in the Region 1 Division 3 Powerlifting Meet on Saturday. The Cubs had four lifters compete and all of them medal at the meet with one of them qualifying for the State Powerlift-ing Meet. Austin Ferriera will represent the Cubs at the State Powerlifting Meet after securing a qualifying total in the 220-pound weight class with a total weight of 1,450 pounds for all three lifts. Ferriera also tied the bench press record in his weight class.

The Junior High Cheerleading team included Macey Arendall, Quincy Baker, Ansley Brown, Leigha Guzman, Steeli Horrell, Aleigha Liberto, Tenley Martin, Sophia Martinez, Hailey Navarro and Halli Worley. The High School Varsity Cheerleading team included, Jerzee Harlan, Azayla Mercado, Emalyn Navarro, Meghan Seymore, Sayge Wise, Zoye Wise and Mascot Alyssa Cavazos.

They also recognized the maintenance department for putting the equipment together. In a Facebook post, Wellman-Union ISD also thanked 4MB Farms, TRIP0B Farms and Sundown State Bank for the continued support of the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats.
