Lady Cubs hold volleyball camp-------Brownfield volleyball held its three day camp for girls who wanted to learn the basics of volleyball. Lady Cubs head coach Mallorie Ellis hosted the camp working with girls from all ages, teaching them the basics such as setting, passing, and serving. She was accompanied by her assistant coach and players, such as Tia and Deja Johnson who helped work with the 12 girls who signed up and were eager to learn.

The kids were taught by Brownfield baseball head coach Eric Morin and assistant coach Woods.
Read moreThis Sunday, 806 High School Sports Connection will host its All-Star game at Lubbock Cooper High with the boys’ game set to tip-off at 3 p.m. and the girls 30 minutes after. Originally, Jason Pearson had planned to start this annual event last year but unfortunately, COVID changed those plans, making this the first-ever 806HSSC sponsored All-Star game. Pearson was determined to have his All-Star game this year and explained why he wanted to host one.
Read moreThe Brownfield football team hosted 7 on 7 and linebackers challenge against Tahoka and Lamesa. The Cubs 7 on 7 varsity squad opened against Lamesa in two 20 minute halves with a running clock. The Cubs went into the half trailing 14-0 and could not find a way for a comeback win falling 20-14. In the final game of the evening, Brownfield faced Tahoka. The Cubs went into the half with a 16-8 lead and extended their lead into a 30-8 win. The lineman challenge saw the Cubs participate in three challenges in the field house. The three events were the 200-pound farmers carry, the skill challenge, and one on one. The Cubs took first place with Lamesa coming in second and Tahoka in third. The Cubs will continue participating in 7 on 7 on Monday at 6 p.m. at Tahoka High.

The Cubs played their third and fourth games of the league facing Littlefield and Idalou in the Frenship junior varsity gym. The Cubs lost to Littlefield 52-42 and bounced back to defeat Idalou 62-48. Brownfield is 3-1 in summer play.

Read moreThe Brownfield football varsity and junior varsity teams participated in the 7 on 7 games and the Cubs’ linesmen participated in the linesmen challenge at Tahoka High Monday night. The Cubs varsity team faced Lamesa in game one and Tahoka in game two, winning both games with a 20-8 win over Lamesa and 28-14 over Tahoka. With the JV team winning both games, Brownfield football went undefeated.
