In addition to getting those extra reps in the 3A, The Brownfield Cubs team got to the 4A Regional Quarterfinals and lost to Big Spring. Nevertheless, a very impressive start for Coach Rich Hammons and his squad.

Christian Rios, Julius Alaniz, and Kayden Wise led the team in scoring with 4 points each. The loss was a big hit for the Wildcats playoff hopes as they go into Friday’s game against Loop in a must win situation to force a possible play-in game for the fourth seed in District 7-1A. Wellman-Union was scheduled to play Dawson on Tuesday, but Dawson canceled its season resulting in an automatic win for the Wildcats.
