Buffalo Adventure Run, an exciting road rally event that will lead teams of drivers through a series of challenges from Buffalo Gap, Texas to the Four Corners Monument and back, began on June 2. The drivers stopped in Brownfield at the Stripes on Tahoka Road for a pit stop. The event is for a great cause, raising money for Camp Able of Buffalo Gap, an organaziation that provides invaluable theraputic riding services. The first team to make it back home wins the cash prize, all while completing the journey in a $500 car of their choosing.

A Brownfield local explained, “gas prices affect everything.” He meant that the rising cost of gas by extension raises the cost of other goods and services. For example, he said shipping costs have risen tremendously. His company’s shipper showed him the cost of shipping the same item today in comparison to last year. The price difference was staggering, he explained. But he said “ship it anyway.” He had no choice, he explained. He added, “if it keeps going like this it doesn’t matter how much you’ve saved, it’s going to affect everyone.”
