Laboratory expansion was on the top of the agenda for the hospital board meeting Monday evening. Interim Hospital CEO Bob Pascasio said, “if you have not been in our laboratory it’s a really cramped environment…at this stage of the game what I am requesting authorization for is to spend a little bit of money to engage an architect to come down here and plan out the project it is most likely able to be accomplished for the minimum amount of money.” “Let’s just pray that we don’t run into any surprises,” said hospital board member June Cooper. Bob Pascasio responded, “that is the reason why we’re approaching it the way we’re approaching it. Karen replied, “it’s on contract and all, so hopefully it goes through!” Her presentation concluded with Chairman Steve Carter saying, “That’s the main thing we’re interested in is how many people can we bring into this here locally and expand as well, so that’s hopefully what we’re going to do. And we’re in transition as well so that’s why we’re having to outsource all the questions that we don’t have an answer for over to Austin or to Comptroller and get those answers back, but since you do have that incentive of having employees we believe we can offer you some sort of incentive back and hopefully be in touch with you soon with the answers.” “Sounds good to me,” said Keren
