The 75th Annual Terry County Harvest Festival began with the talent show and competition last Thursday with performances by local dance groups and queen candidates. On Friday, the Ghost Dance Band provided a free concert and Brownfield hosted a classic car cruise. On Saturday, the festivities continued in Coleman Park with the car show, games, food, prizes, music and vendor booths.

The game was a battle from the first quarter to the last, with a final score of 39 to 37. It was the first disappointment of the year for the Cubs as the Mules claimed a slim victory. Brownfield has had a strong season, winning all five prior varsity games. Alan Nelson expressed confidence in the Cubs as they scored first and maintained the lead until halftime. “This is a West Texas shootout,” said Brownfield High School Principal Gionet Cooper. “They’re two highly-disciplined and successful teams.”
