Governor: Hospitals must expand capacity as Covid-19 cases escalate

AUSTIN — Gov. Greg Abbott has again suspended elective surgeries in hospitals in 104 counties located within 11 of the state’s 22 trauma service areas. Each of the trauma service areas has a regional advisory council and a trauma system plan to respond to health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Masks Mandated for Terry County as COVID Cases Rise

The COVID-19 virus cases continue to rise in Terry County. Total cases are now at 47 with 24 active and 23 recoveries. There has not been any information given as to where cases 5 through 47 have come from only small details as far as age ranges. There have been no Terry County cases or patients placed in the hospital and no deaths reported due to the coronavirus. According to the Texas Dept. of State Health Services 313 tests have been administered to Terry County residents, or 2.5% of the Terry County population and 15% of those tested were confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Terry County Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault

On Friday night around 10:30 p.m. the Lubbock Police Dept. received a call about a man who had been shot at a 7-Eleven convenience store located at University Ave and Marsha Sharp Freeway. According to witnesses, they heard a few people arguing and then a gunshot rang out.
