Raymond Garcia Fonseca

A funeral mass for Raymond Garcia Fonseca will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father John Ohlig officiating. Burial will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. There will be a rosary held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Brownfield Funeral Home. Raymond passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, in Durango Colorado. He was born on September 18, 1952, in Rosebud, Texas to Daniel and Leocadia Fonseca. Raymond graduated from Brownfield High School. He married Ophelia Martinez on December 19th, 1969. Raymond worked 38 years in the oil and gas industry where he was known for his impeccable work ethic and mentorship. Raymond enjoyed golfing, camping, and hosting family dinners. He loved living and being in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. He was a dedicated family man that enjoyed raising and taking care of his family. Raymond loved to listen and dance to tejano music. He was an avid Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboys fan. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rachel Fonseca, son Raul Fonseca and mother-in-law Maria Salas. Raymond is survived by his wife Ophelia Fonseca of Bayfield Colorado; daughter, Ramona Fonseca of Bayfield Colorado; six grandchildren, Allec Rodriguez, Ryan Nava, Rachel Nava, Geneva Fonseca, Maribel Espinoza, Raymond Fonseca; two great granddaughters, JoLee Beth Espinoza, Luca Jean Rodriguez; brother, Daniel Fonseca Jr; two sisters, Enidena Muniz and Anita Vasquez.

Norma Dee Holcombe

Graveside services for Norma Dee Holcombe, 79, will be held at 2 pm Monday, March 28, 2022, at Brownfield Cemetery with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating. There will be a public viewing on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Brownfield Funeral Home from 1 pm to 8 pm. Norma passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in Levelland. She was born on March 18, 1943, in Lone Oak to Roy and Willie Dean Edwards. She married Taylor Thomas Holcombe on September 23, 1960, in Terry County. Norma worked a majority of her life as a waitress. She was a good mom to her children as they grew up. Norma is preceded in death by her husband Taylor Thomas Holcombe, parents Roy and Will Edwards, two children, James Morris Holcombe, Tina Louise Holcombe, and three siblings, Richard Edwards, Martha Bevels, and Linda Edwards. Norma is survived by her son, Thomas Holcombe and wife, Sheryl, of Brownfield; two daughters, Tammy Holcombe of Brownfield, Tracy McCarty and husband, Phelps, of Littlefield; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Colby York

Colby York, 54, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on March 21, 2022. He entered this world on August 26, 1967, in Levelland, TX, born to Charles and Jayne York. Colby was a great man always willing to lend a hand where it was needed, especially with his ability to work on a vehicle. Always putting others before himself. Everyone searches life for a purpose and he may not have known it, but he exceeded expectations of his on a day to day basis. Colby is preceded in death by his parents, Charles York and Jayne McCann. He is survived by his wife, Jerri Gardner, and son, James Gardner. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating.

Walter Perry Chisum (Bud)

Walter Perry Chisum (Bud) entered peaceful rest on March 21, 2022. Walter was born to Jake and Lois Chisum in Decatur, Tx on May 24, 1932. Walter met and married Edna Corley in Brownfield on October 13, 1951. They celebrated 65 years of life together and were devoted partners. Walter was an ingenious inventor and well known as a man of integrity. Bud is preceded in death by wife Edna, son Perry, his parents, sister Georgianna Harwood, grandson Joshua Larson, and great-granddaughter Haley Larson. He is survived by his sister Veedajo Jeter, sisterin-law Carolyn Corley, daughter Trish Larson, son Preston Chisum, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Walter will have a graveside service at Terry County Cemetery on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests donations/memorials be given to Brownfield Senior Citizen's Center Meal Program in lieu of flowers.
