SUICIDE AWARENESS WALK

The Terry County Suicide Awareness Walk was held Saturday at Cub Stadium and indoor complex from 10 a.m. to noon. There were several walkers that participated in the event to help raise awareness. There were also several vendors at the event and a lot of support from the community. Pick up this weekend’s edition for a recap on the walk held by the Terry County Suicidde Awareness committee.

Brownfield ISD students, teachers coming to terms with teacher’s death

Brownfield High School’s students and staff members are coming to terms with the recent death of a teacher. Lorna Wilkins, an experienced instructor who taught English Language Arts, died suddenly on the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 30, which was the 16th day of the new school year.

Lorna Kathleen Wilkins-Williams, 35, of Levelland, Texas graduated to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2023. Ms. Wilkins’ memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at First Baptist Church (219 W. Main Street) in Brownfield, Texas with Dr. Gionet Cooper officiating.
