BHS Olympic athletes travel to Lubbock for the annual Field Day

The Brownfield High School and Middle School special education departments had the opportunity to represent the Cubs and Lady Cubs in Lubbock at Cooper High School’s Field Day onTuesday. Lubbock Cooper’s certified Adapted Physical Educator, Jeff Key, coordinated the entire event and its activities. 21 Olympic athletes traveled to the field day to participate in different activities that included throwing footballs, kicking soccer balls, playing baseball and several other field day events. The students were assigned to different stations, received a map and had a set amount of time at their stations before rotating to a new one. The field day concluded with a massive dance-off alongside cheerleaders.

NRCS Texas Accepting Applications from Producers, Landowners for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Texas announced fiscal year (FY) 2024 financial assistance opportunities for agricultural producers and landowners through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). While NRCS accepts conservation program applications year-round, producers and landowners should apply by Nov. 8, 2023, to be considered for FY 2024 funding.
