Jacquelyn Bow, 76, of Plainview passed away on March 1, 2024 in Plainview, Texas. Her graveside service will be held on Thursday March 7, 2024 at Lovington Cemetery in Lovington, New Mexico at 10 A.M. Jacquelyn was born on March 15, 1947 to Robert Ward, Sr and Ruth Ingles in Flint, Michigan. She is survived by her children, Melvin Bow, Jr and Tammy, David Bow and fiancé Sandy Nichols; fiancé William Bellis; step son, Michael Bellis and wife Candice; grandchildren, Meagan Bow-Newman, David Bryan Bow, Jr, Kayla Bellis and Izaak Bellis; great grandchildren, Isabella Newman, Paisley Newman and Gunner Bow; sister Sylvia Hawkins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Royce Bow, Sr; her parents; five sisters and one brother.

Graveside service for Dash Wesley Hickson, was held at 2 pm Friday, February 23, 2024, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Tommy Rosenblad and Steve Carter officiating. Dash Wesley Hickson was born into this world sleeping on February 19, 2024, at 4:20 pm. He is survived by his parents; Jerry and Laci Hickson, and his big siblings; Dylan Joe and Dawnleigh Marie Hickson. His grandparents, Dale Hancock, Mike and Arlene Hickson. Great-grandma Romelia Hierro and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandpa Leslie Hancock and many great-grandparents. Dash Wesley was already so loved by his little family and close friends. The time we had with Baby Dash was short, but it sure was bitter sweet. He was perfect in every way, looking identical to his big brother and sister. Thick black hair covered his body from head to toe, cutest little button nose, and the most preciously perfect lips. We may not understand why you had to leave this world, but we know that God has you in His arms. No matter what, we will always be your mom and dad, and you will always be our son. Until we hold you again, in Jesus’ arms, you will be.

Spirit of the Plains to be Represented at State

The Brownfield Spirit of the Plains traveled to Abernathy High School two weeks ago to compete at the UIL Solo and Ensemble. The Spirit of the Plains had two students qualify for state, a total of three gold medalists and one silver medalist out of six students who traveled to perform. The students who qualified for the State Solo and Ensemble contest will travel to Austin and compete on either day 1 (May 25) or day 2 (May 27). The dates and sites for each class are to be determined.
