The Lady Cubs are now 5-0 in their season. In a tough 5-set game against Shallowater, the Lady Cubs came out on top. Deja and Tia Johnson led the team with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, and Madison Hord had 25 digs. The Lady Cubs volleyball team improved to 3-0 on Tuesday evening after defeating 4A Snyder in a three set sweep, 27- 25, 25-11, 25-20. Deja Johnson and Madison Hord had 3 aces each. Tia Johnson had 10 kills, followed by Brianna Franco with 6. Madison Hord had 15 digs, and Gabi Fields had 24 assists.The Lady Cubs travel to Shallowater to take on River Road and Shallowater today (Saturday). The games begin at 10 a.m.

Congratulations to the Brownfield Lady Cubs Volleyball Team for a great win against the Miles Lady Bulldogs. Highlights of the game included Tia Johnson and Meriah leading the team with seven kills each, Madison Hord with ten digs and Gabi Field contributed several aces. The team is now 2-0 in their season and will play Shallowater and River Road on Saturday, August 22 starting at 10 a.m. in Shallowater.

The Wellman-Union Lady Cats took to the volleyball court for their season and home opener against Sterling City. This was the debut of their new head coach Taylor Dillard. The Lady Cats found themselves down two sets, won the third, but fell to Sterling City in the fourth.

Sports are back again with the UIL approval of all 1A-4A districts starting two-a-days on Monday. County schools, Brownfield, Wellman-Union and Meadow started bright and early Monday morning with cross country, football, volleyball and fall tennis. Two-a-days will continue for all districts until the start of school.
