The Brownfield Lady Cubs traveled to Portales, New Mexico, to face the Lady Rams in a non-district matchup on Monday, December 20. The non-district game was sandwiched between two district games, the Lady Cubs district road opener at Friona and another road game at Dimmitt. The Lady Cubs were able to hold off the Lady Rams and secure a 46-39 win.

The Brownfield Cubs hosted Big Spring at home on Friday, December 17 in what seemed like a Cubs win until a fourth-quarter collapse saw the Longhorns steal a 66-62 win over the Cubs. Brownfield went into the fourth quarter with a 54-43 lead before the young Cubs offense went cold, scoring eight points and the defense allowed 23 points with 14 coming from the foul line.

FRIONA – The Meadow Broncos faced Class 3A Friona Chieftains on Friday, December 17. In a very close game that saw both teams enter the third quarter tied 32-32, the Broncos offense went cold and fell to Friona 45-38.

The Wellman-Union Lady Cats participated in the Plains Tournament Thursday through Friday. The Lady Cats played three games this past weekend, improving throughout the tournament. Games were played against Eunice, Plains, and Segraves.
