DENVER CITY – The defending District 3-3A champions Brownfield Cubs went up against a good Mustang squad and struggled in the first half until they turned the game around in the third to steal a 59-54 road win and improve to 2-0 in district. The Cubs were on the road for their second game of district play when they traveled to Denver CIty Sports Complex. Devin Hines led the Cubs with 19 points, 2 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 block, and 1 assist. Jojo Carrillo had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Jeremiah Tealer led the team with 5 steals and had 8 rebounds. Malik Mason had 8 rebounds with 5 coming on the offensive board.

Deja Johnson had 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, and 2 assists. Dabria Blackwell added 11 points, 1 steal, 2 blocks, and 2 assists off the bench. Lindsey Herrera led the team with 5 steals and 5 assists.
