Kenneth Ray Wenzel, 66, of Levelland, Texas, passed away on Friday August 28, 2020. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 1, 2020, at College Ave Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas. He was born January 11, 1954 in Brownfield, Texas to parents Wilburn and Mildred Wenzel. Kenny worked in the oilfield all of his life and for Haliburton for 38 years of those as a Senior Tools Specialist. He retired from Halliburton in 2014 to open his own business. He never really knew how to not work. His passion outside of his family was drag racing. He had a love for speed and tinkering on his cars. He loved to golf, fish and travel with his friends and family.Kenny was the hardest worker anyone ever met and he taught his family how to work hard for what you want. He taught all of his family to never quit when things get hard. He was strong in discipline, with a sharp tongue but had the biggest heart; quick to run to the rescue for anyone in need. He loved and lived for his family. Kenneth met Angelia Wenzel in 1984; they were married a year later on May 13, 1985 in Levelland, Texas. Together they raised 4 children: Nicki McCarter, Crystal Haynie, Christina Nickel, and John Pichla. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilburn and Mildred Wenzel. Kenneth is survived by his wife Angie; kids John, Chrissy, Crystal and Nicki; 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; Brother Jerry Wenzel and Sister Patsy Burns. John served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953, during that time he served in the Korean Conflict. John married Doris Pyle in Kemp, TX on December 20, 1951. John was a member of the First Baptist Church in Meadow. He enjoyed farming and participating in the farmers market. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertha Haynes; brother, William Haynes; three sisters, Audra Womble, Mattie Miller, and Wilma Van Deren. John is survived by his wife, Doris Haynes; son, Lonnie Haynes and wife Andrea; daughter, Jenise Wooten and husband Johnny; five grandchildren, Jonathan Haynes and wife Maribeth, Kristine Rodriguez and husband Van, Matthew Haynes and wife Debra, Samuel Haynes, Holley Baker; four great grandchildren, Gus Rodriguez, Camden Rodriguez, Elly Rodriguez, Emma Haynes.

She married Melvin D Moore July 20, 1951 in Brownfield, Texas. She was a homemaker, a former member of the First Baptist Church of Brownfield and Ruidoso and currently Seagraves. She was a member of The Rebecca Lodge and was a past Noble Grand #56 of Brownfield. She loved her church family and loved singing in the choir. Her voice was like an angel when she sang her old gospel songs. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, October 20, 1990 and two children; Delynda Roe and Garry Don Moore, also two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a son Dennis Moore of Slaton and daughter Janet Foshee of Seagraves. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren and 3 great- great- grandchildren also, numerous nieces and nephews. Maria Elena was born to Jesus and Francisca Cantu in Meadow, Texas on December 17, 1947.She was known by Mary to some and Elena to most. Mary met Raymond Gonzales and married in May 17, 1974 they resided in Brownfield all of their lives along with their 5 children. No words can describe Mary best like the word “selfless”. She was one of the most giving persons that anyone had the privilege to ever meet. If she heard of a person in need she would do everything possible to help them. One of her greatest passions was cooking. Putting her selflessness and her cooking skills together she cooked up some amazing things up for this community. She held many fundraisers to help others from little league teams buy uniforms to those needing help with medical expenses. She catered many weddings, quincentenaries’ and a lot of meals that had lost their loved ones. Mary loved to help her church of St. Anthony’s she made sure that she had a booth for the Jamaica every year she helped with the Bereavementcommittee and many other church functions. Mary’s other great passion was The Cub Drive In. She started working at the age of 13 and worked for many years as an employee and then came back after a short break as the “Boss”.Mary loved her kids and grandkids and great grandkids unconditionally. She showed her family the true meaning of a strong hard-working woman. She fought through many storms with strength that only comes from God, until last week when she said she was tired and was ready when the Good Lord was ready for her. Saying that she will be greatly missed is an understatement. Mary is survived by her five children Pete Garza and Angie of Brownfield. Cynthia Tealer of Brownfield, Teresa and husband Valde Flores of Lubbock, Mark Gonzales and wife Gloria of Lubbock and Jona and husband Clay Rolan of Canyon. 11 grandkids Eric Garza, Tara Garza, Rocky Garza, Linda Chavez, Latisha Tealer, Kasandra Tealer, Leslie Flores, Abrian and Zarin Gonzales, Madi and Brody Rolan. 21 great grandkids and 4 great grandchildren. 4 sisters Anita Romero, Vera Jimenez, Delia Barnhart, Dora Cantu and brother Robert Cantu. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Gonzales and her parents Jesus and Francisca Cantu, two brothers Jose Tijerina and Lupe Tijerina and one great great grandson.

Jimmie was born September 14, 1942 in Amarillo, TX to Millard and Leona (Greer) Anderson. After graduating high school, he joined the National Guard. After that Jimmie started his career in the oil field where he worked for Marshall R. Young for 32 years before retiring. Jimmie loved fishing and time with his family. One of our most memorable things about Jimmie is, when you walked into a room he would spot you out, make eye contact and give you a big smile. Jimmie is preceded in death by his wife Kathy Powell Anderson of Brownfield, TX, and his brother Olan Dale Anderson of Blackwell, OK. He is survived by his three sons. Dwayne Anderson of Levelland, Ronald Anderson of Brownfield, Shawn Anderson and his wife Heather Anderson of Levelland. Three grandchildren, Terra Anderson of Levelland, Kerra Anderson of Brownfield and Austin Anderson of Wolfforth. Three step grandchildren, Tuff, Trinity and Teegan Walters of Levelland, and five great grandchildren.

She was born on August 7, 1943, to Edward and Susie Hilburn. She met and married the love of her life, Frank Competio, at the age of 14 and they began to build a family legacy that has spanned generations and will continue to do so. She was no stranger to hard work and she instilled that quality in all of her kids, and made sure that it was passed down to the future generations as well. Together with Frank, she raised 8 children and family get togethers were the highlight of every season and holiday, with every corner of the house filled with the love and laughter that radiated from within. She was an avid supporter of each and every one of her kids, grandkids and later great-grandkids and could often be found wherever they were competing. Her dedication didn’t end there, thus earning her the unofficial titles of Mom and Grandma at the Wellman school and her own corner in the Wildcat gym to watch the games. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Benny Hilburn; and one son in law, Joe Cavazos. She is survived by her husband Frank, 3 sons: Frank Jr and wife Fay of Brownfield, Daniel and wife Tina of Lubbock and Roy of Brownfield; 5 daughters: Lucy Frei and husband Chris of Brownfield, Mary Jiminez and husband Roel of Brownfield, Angie Cavazos of Brownfield, Lusinda of Brownfield, and Nancy Mendieta and husband Jovan of Brownfield; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. She is also survived by one brother Louis Hilburn of Caldwell, Tx; and 4 sisters, Mary Ellen Hernandez of Brownfield, Estella Villasenor of Amarillo, TX, Rosa Zuniga of Lubbock, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.Visitation at the Brownfield Funeral Home will be on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and services are scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to the Susan B Komen Foundation.
