Read moreThe City of Brownfield Water Department was called out Thursday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. to assess a water main break that was located at the alley on the west side of South Cedar, between Tate Street and Cardwell Street. According to city officials, the main water line had busted, “blew a hole and took a chunk of asphalt out of the street, and water was gushing.” The Water Dept. began to work on the leak around 1:00 p.m. and did not complete the work until 9:00 p.m., with help from several city workers from all departments in the city.

Read moreUPDATE: A Brownfield man who was wanted out of Odessa,TX ,Jonathan Castillo, 33, has been apprehended. Castillo was arrested on Thursday February 20th in Lubbock, TX. Odessa Police had been searching for Castillo, who was wanted for assault and kidnapping. According to Odessa police, Castillo, allegedly tried to force a 37-year-old woman into a vehicle while she was screaming. The police were called to the scene near the 4200 block of North Grandview, central Odessa at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, January, 11th, 2020.
