LUBBOCK, TX - (Sept. 16, 2020) - Today at its 67 th Annual Meeting, Lubbock-based Plains Cotton Cooperative Association announced fiscal year-end further cash distribution to its grower-owners totaling $24.73 million. The Brownfield community has seen, in recent weeks and months, devastating heartbreak because of suicide. Wheatley felt it was necessary to bring awareness and support to the cause of speaking out about suicide. Thilda Flores, who’s son Justin took his own life in March, spoke about suicide to the crowd before the walk/run began. Tears streamed down the face of almost every person there that morning, realizing this is a subject that must be talked about.
