The Brownfield ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, February 28 for its regular scheduled meeting for the month of February. Board member Yvonne Rocha was the only trustee missing from the meeting, but there were enough members present for President Geoff Cooper to call the quorum to order. The first item on the agenda was the recognition of Brexton Wise of Oak Grove as student of the month, Jessica Tate of Oak Grove, Pilar Carrillo of Colonial Heights, Maverick Allison of Brownfield Middle School, and Jasmine Arenas of Brownfield High School as employees of the month. Each one was given a plaque and a gift card. Following the traditional recognitions, the board had three special recognitions.

Wagner called the quorum to order even with Precinct 1 representative Mike Swain the only commissioner not in attendance. The court approved to pay the county bills before going into the agenda items. The main item was the order of a special election.

Read moreMULESHOE – The Brownfield boys and girls’ track and field teams competed in the Muleshoe Relay on Friday, February 25. There were a total of six teams competing at the relay. The Lady Cubs competed in the track and field events and the Cubs competed in the track events. Cubs head coach Aarrhon Flores was pleased with how his runners competed.
