Summer is almost here and as the weather gets warm the Brownfield Parks department is hard at work on revamping the pool that has been closed for the past two years. Originally it was closed for covid, then the next year Texas had its massive statewide freeze that left the pool needing repairs.

Daylight savings time will end on November 6th at 2 a.m. This practice was originally started during WW1 to save energy. According to recent studies done by the Department of Transportation daylight savings time does in fact save energy. The idea is that we are making better use of daylight by adjusting our clocks to account for the extra sunlight in the summer evenings, and when we make better use of daylight we use less electricity to light our homes in the morning and evenings.
