According to Texas Tech Mesonet’s weather monitoring system, Brownfield received .37 inches of rain from thunderstorms that rolled across the region Sunday night. January has been slightly above average in rainfall totals with 1.09 inches compared to January 2020’s .35 inches. High temperatures in the mid-50s to low 60s are expected this week with no chances of precipitation.

Graveside service for Ramondo Hernandez were held at 10am Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Brownfield Cemetery. Rosary will be held at 6pm Monday, January 25, 2021 at Brownfield Funeral Home. Ramondo passed away on January 21, 2021 in Midland. He was born on January 7, 1930 to Antonia Hernandez. Ramondo married Delia Molina on December 28, 1948 in Mexico. Ramondo was a hardworking man who loved his children. He taught his children good morals and how to work hard. He always had stories and jokes to tell. Ramondo is preceded in death by his wife Delia Hernandez and his mother Antonia Hernandez. Ramondo is survived by his nine children, Jose Hernandez of Austin, Janie Leon of Brownfield, Bertha and husband Noe Infante of Midland, Irma and husband Ricardo Gonzales of Brownfield, Alberto and wife Minnie Hernandez of Lubbock, Raul and wife Maribelle Hernandez of Pflugerville, Beatrice and husband Gilbert Garza of Midland, Ramiro and wife Brenda Hernandez of Lubbock, and Raymond Hernandez of Austin; 27 grandkids, 65 greatgrandkids, and several great great-grandkids.

Jasuita (Susie) Solano passed away on January 19, 2021 in Austin. Jasuita was born on July 28, 1950 in Lamesa to Natividad and Maria Perez. She married Jose Rivera Solano Sr. in Terry County on August 6, 1965. Jasuita was a loving wife, hard working mother of four boys, and forever endearing, forgiving sister. Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rivera Solano Sr.; parents Natividad and Maria Perez, Brother Ignacio (Nacho) Perez and Brother Roberto (Bobby) Perez. Jasuita is survived by her four sons, Jose (Joe) Rivera Solano Jr. and Leticia Solano, Paul Perez Solano and Rosie, David Perez Solano and Amanda, Alfred (Freddie) Perez Solano and Cynthia; grandchildren: Andreas (Andy), Alejandra (Alex), Yesenia (Senia), Juan Jose (JJ) Abigail (Abi), Paul Adam, Samuel Noel (Sam), Christopher Paul (Chris), Gabrielle Alyssa (Gabi), Cassandra (Chana), Jacqueline (Jackie) and Victor, Patricia (Trish), Daniel, Mikela, Serenity (Ren) and Joseph (JoJo), Adam, Rayanne (Red), Raven (BooBoos) and Hannah (Honey); seven great-grandchildren; siblings, MaryLou and Richard Garza, Ricardo (Ricky) and Francis Perez, George and MaryJane Perez, Angel and Joy Perez, Erlinda (Linda) Perez; sister-in-law, Angela Perez Funeral service for Jasuita will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Brownfield Funeral Home with Chris Seaton officiating. Inez was born in Petersburg, Texas to Charlie Raney and Emma Viola Raney on February 19, 1927. She passed away in Marble Falls, Texas on January 23, 2021 due to complications from Covid 19. She was the middle child of 5 with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters. Her family moved to Brownfield, Texas when Inez was in elementary school where she continue to live until 2014 when she moved to Horseshoe Bay, Texas to be with her daughter and son-in-law. She married Robert William (Bobby) Graves in 1943. They raised their two children in Brownfield. Bobby preceded her in death in 1980. She then married Craig Wilkerson in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her husband Craig, both her parents, her son Billy Bob Graves, her grandson Freeman Scott Sansom, 2 older brothers Earl Raney and Samuel Raney and 2 younger sisters Jean Pendergrass and Wanda Bailey. Those left to cherish her memory are: her daughter Judy Graves Sansom and her husband Larry, her grandchildren Randa Powell and husband Walter Jr., Mark Graves and wife Kathy, their daughter Darci (George) and her 3 children; Lori Pharis, husband Cade, their children Raney, Haden and Chesni; and Brady Sansom, wife Leslie, their children Cadence and Melanie. Inez was a devoted homemaker until the mid 60’s when she went to work for the cotton classing office. She then worked as a deputy county clerk for Terry County before going to work in the title and abstract department at McGowan’s Law Firm where she retired in 1992. Inez lived the last year of her life at Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls. Inez was a shining example of how to live a joyful life, always giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. She loved her Lord. She loved her family unconditionally and her friends as well. She will leave a big hole in her family which they will be continually filling with memories of her. Because of COVID-19, there will be no public service. A private burial will be held at Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas. Services for Bobby “Bob” Scott Reynolds, 90, of Brownfield, TX were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Brownfield Church of Christ. Bob will be in state for viewing Tuesday, January 26 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. at Brownfield Funeral Home. Bob passed away January 22, 2021. Bob was born July 17, 1930 in Acuff, TX and was married to Charlene Barnes in 1948 until her death in 2016. He married Billie Strickland in 2017. Bob attended Baylor University, David Lipscomb College, Abilene Christian University and received his BS and master’s degree from Texas Tech University in 1971. Bob lived his life as a true servant of the Lord. He was a Minister to Churches of Christ starting in 1954 at Bethel Southport, TN. From there his mission took him to Rosebank, and Nashville TN, Cedar City, UT, then to Meadow TX, Monterey Church of Christ in Lubbock, and Cactus Drive in and Levelland, TX. Bob preached at gospel meetings in several states, Canada, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Switzerland. In 1975 he began his ministry at the Brownfield Church of Christ in Brownfield, TX. Many still remember Bob’s radio program, “Better Day”, which ran for 15 years, and his weekly article, “Reynolds’ Rap”. Bob continued to stop by the church office to check in, get any news and help out in any way he could. Bob served for many years on the Board of Camp Blue Haven and he loved staying at the camp in the summer to teach camp sessions. Bob was a staunch supporter of the Brownfield Church of Christ’s “Thursday School” from 1981 to 2019. Bob was a faithful servant to the New Life Behavior Ministries sharing the gospel with inmates. Bob also hosted weekly CASA classes since 2002. Bob is survived by his wife Billie Reynolds, daughter Sue and husband, Johnny Williamson, his son Scott Reynolds, and grandchildren; Kim Breton, Becca Navarro, Kristin Bowman, Keetha Lucero, Brandi Hogan, Meagan Carpenter, Eric Reynolds and Chandler Bauer, and 19 great grandchildren that brought Bob great joy. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlene, and his daughter, Shirley Ellison.
