BROWNFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL

If we were to describe this school year in one word, we would say, “new.” Brownfield Middle School is in a new location, with a new food service provider, new curriculum, new testing, new electives, new programs, and new challenges. Our students and our staff are hard at work in an attempt to improve the academic and social struggles many of our students face due to the obstacles our nation has faced since 2020. The dedication and commitment of our staff is impressive and humbling; the success we are seeing would be impossible without it.

It’s time to point out the PRIDE of the CUBS

I attended Brownfield ISD for most of my schooling, from kindergarten through graduation in 2019, besides 2nd grade, when I went to Wellman Union. More Testing Kits

Brownfield does not need more COVID testing sites, it needs more rapid test kits. That is according to Dave Clark, Interim Administrator of BRMC. Governor Abbott is seeking more federal funding for COVID-19 testing locations. Clark says that he is appreciative of Gov. Abbott’s hard work, but Brownfield needs more rapid testing kits. Brownfield’s testing centers go through 30-50 testing kits daily and will run out of the rapid tests today (Tuesday). “We have ordered our allocation of 300 testing kits, but they will not be here until next week. We need 500 tests but 300 is all we are allowed,” Clark said. The Omicron variant took everyone by surprise and the federal government is now having trouble mass-producing the tests. “Think about the mass population of this country and having enough tests to go around several times. It is a massive undertaking.” Clark replied. BRMC also offers COVID blood test testing through the hospital.
