Each year possible, area elementary students have been treated to an education trailer with working models of the Ogallala aquifer, the water cycle in action (complete with rainstorm, household water use, and others – a fascinating field trip on wheels that the South Plains Underground Water Conservation District education coordinator, Michelle Cooper, brings to their school. May 1st through May 3rd during the Rainwater Harvesting Awareness Week, however, Layne Marlow, SPUWCD manager, brought the trailer to the Terry County museum for all to enjoy, and the names of those attending were entered in a raffle to win a free rain barrel and rain chain. Winners were Linda Edmonds, Patricia Alcala, and Kisa Luther.
