TXDOT has plans for dangerous intersection in Brownfield, Sheriff urges caution

Nearly 100 motor vehicle crashes occurred during the three years from 2020 to the end of 2022 at the intersection of U.S. 62 and U.S. 385 South (or Seagraves Road) in Brownfield, which prompted the county sheriff to contact the state about improving the safety of that stretch of highway. “I’ve complained to TXDOT about the entire roadway from the Brownfield city limits to Wellman,” said Terry County Sheriff Timothy Click, who answered some questions via email for the News. “After expressing my concerns, they placed big signs about every five miles from the city limits to Wellman. Last year, almost half of the 100 vehicular accidents in Terry County were at Seagraves and U.S. 62.
