City Council Honors scholarship recipients and discusses multiple matters

The Brownfield City Council met Thursday morning for their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss a multitude of matters. Council members Kelli Mendez, Celso Duran, Leon Pope, Marshall Martel, Mark Williams, and Jimmy Garza were all present on the quorum along with Mayor Tom Hesse, City Manager Jeff Davis, Secretary Kelly Burris and attorney Matt Wade who joined the meeting via phone call.

Terry County 4-H Members Excel at Texas 4-H Roundup

4-H members from Terry County 4-H participated at Texas 4-H Roundup in Bryan/College Station, Texas, June 5-8 th . Texas 4-H Roundup, the pinnacle event for all of Texas 4-H, welcomed around 1,300 senior level, or high school aged, youth to compete in approximately 50 diverse competitions throughout the week. The contests included both qualifying events, where 4-H members qualified at their county and district contests to compete at the state level, and invitational events. Additionally, the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation awarded just under $2.7 million in scholarships to 227 youth.
