The couple will be married December 29, 2023 at Rustic Grace Estate in Van Alstyne, Texas. The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Brownfield High School and a 2009 graduate of Asbury College with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She received her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University in 2017.

Brownfield Cubs fall to Roosevelt 46-30

The Brownfield Cubs suffered their first loss of the young season as Lubbock Roosevelt came into town spoiling Brownfields homecoming and leaving with a 4630 victory. The Cubs started off the game hot as their opening possession resulted in six thanks to Gage McPherson on a 26- yard rushing touchdown. Roosevelt however would come out in their triple option offense and answer with a touchdown of their own plus a two-point conversion to give the Eagles a 8-7 lead. It would be long before the Cub offense had an answer however as JJ Martinez found JoJo Carrillo for a touchdown pulling the Cubs back in front 14-8.

City Council approves proposal of new tax rate

The Brownfield City Council met Thursday morning for their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss several matters. Council members Kelli Mendez, Celso Duran, J.C Tijerna, Leon Pope, Marshall Martell, Mark Williams and Jimmy Garza were all present on the quorum along with City Manager Jeff Davis, Secretary Kelly Burris and Mayor Tom Hesse. The longest discussion was on the proposed tax rate for the new fiscal year.
