Some Big Changes Coming to Local Park

The Brownfield City Council met Thursday morning for their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss several items on the agenda. Council members Kelli Mendez, J.C. Tijerina, Celso Duran, Leon Pope, Marshall Martell, Mark Williams and Jimmy Garza were all present on the quorum, along with City Manager Jeff Davis, City Secretary Kelly Burris, City Attorney Matt Wade and Mayor Tom Hesse.

Brownfield Powerlifting Competes at Tiger Invitational

The Brownfield powerlifting team traveled to Fresnhip over the weekend to compete at the Frenship Tiger Invitational. The Cubs finished in 12th place with a total of zero points and the Lady Cubs finished in eighth place with a total of seven points. Zeriah Gomez led the Brownfield powerlifting squad with her first-place finish in the 123-pound weight class.

It’s like Christmas in February for Coaches all across the state of Texas as they anxiously awaited to see the results of realignment and what their futures held. For Brownfield things look a little different than things have before beginning with football. They’ve remain in 3A Division 1 District 2 the district looks like this Brownfield Lamesa Denver City Kermit All 4 schools are familiar foes which should create some intense games during the fall. The other thing to note of this district is that all four teams are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs as 4 teams from each district qualify.
