Brownfield Falls to Littlefield in Seeding Game 78-43

The Brownfield Runnin’Cubs took on the Littlefield Wildcats and lost 78-43. The two schools met up for an important rubber match to decide who was going into the playoffs with the number one overall seed for the district and number two overall seed. Coming out to start the game the Runnin’Cubs had the momentum during the first quarter forcing the Wildcats into plenty of turnovers however couldn’t capitalize on all of them only taking a 10-7 lead into the locker room. Littlefield in the second frame was able to flip the momentum to their side as they found their offensive flow outscoring Brownfield 22-9 and taking a 29-19 lead into the locker room. Coming out of the halftime break, Brownfield tried to claw their way back into the game but for every basket they scored Littlefield had an answer. During the third quarter Brownfield went through a tough scoring drought that Littlefield took advantage of as they stretched their lead, and in the fourth quarter they continued to stretch their lead ultimately putting Brownfield away 78-43. Brownfield is now the #2 seed in the district and will begin their playoff push in Andrews on Tuesday where they will take on the Kermit Yellowjackets.
