Calvary Baptist Church held a youth lunch fundraiser for their church to raise funds for their student ministry Sunday. The youth members served a meal of Ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls and a dessert. The lunch was just the kickoff to the fundraising season. The student ministry has more fundraising plans in the future but is still fine-tuning the details of those events. The lunch was a perfect starting point for the fundraising season as they were able to earn around $2,000.

Shem Gurrea placed second in the 114-pound weight class, only 25 pounds behind the state champion. Zeriah Gomez finished third in the 123-pound weight class, followed by Angel Gurrea in fourth place.
