Prices in Texas are 7.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 5.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 2.9 cents in the last week and stands at $3.98 per gallon.

Momma Mia Day Set for Thursday in Preparation for Mother’s Day

The Brownfield Chamber and Visitor Information Center will host their annual Momma Mia Day on Thursday. Momma Mia Day is a shop local event that promotes local businesses and their inventory for the upcoming Mother’s Day on May 12. Several shops will participate in the event, including Brownfield Floral, Buddy’s Brownfield, El Palacio Restaurant, Forever Nutrition, Hippie Glamor Salon, Just By Chance, Dr. Kelly Riley, Lash Me Now Y Mas, Main Place, Nelson Pharmacy, Oooh La La!, Sweet Little Peace at Triple D Winery, the Triple D Winery and Restaurant and Whitehouse Parker Farmhouse Vineyards Tasting Room.

Chamber to Host Viva El Vino Wine Run

The Brownfield Chamber and Visitor Information Center will host their Viva El Vino Wine Run on Saturday. Participants can sign up for the run either through the Chamber of Commerce website or at the Chamber of Commerce. Entries are $25 and include a T-shirt. The Wine run will take place at Reddy Vineyards at 11 a.m. Medals will be awarded to first through third place. There will be Men’s and Women’s categories. The Vineyard is easily accessible and has a road that leads throughout the vineyard. Contestants will run along the road around his vineyard, which is the perfect distance for a 5k. The last wine run occurred at the park and through the streets of Brownfield. The Chamber aims to have a fall and springtime wine run. The Viva El Vino Wine Run will occur on Cinco De May Weekend and incorporate Cinco De Mato themes throughout the event.
