The Brownfield tennis team hosted Pecos on Saturday, September 11 in a nondistrict game. The Cubs defeated the Eagles 17-2 as they prepare to finish off the first round of district play when they travel to Shallowater on Tuesday.

The Meadow, and Wellman Union cross country teams participated in the LCU Chap Invite on Saturday, September 11. There was 269 runners in the girls division and 327 runners for the boys.

Lady Cubs sweep Lady Eagles

The Brownfield volleyball team hosted Lubbock Christian on Saturday, September 11 in its final home game of non-district play. The Lady Cubs swept the Lady Eagles 25-15, 25-21, 25-14 behind an impressive serving performance. Brownfield will close its non-district schedule on the road for its final two games against Andrews on Tuesday, September 14, and Greenwood/Wall on Saturday, September 18.

Cubs prepare to face Steers on the road

On Friday night the Brownfield football team will travel to visit the 2-1 Big Spring Steers. Big Spring is coming off a 28-13 loss at Monahans. The Steers are unbeaten at home having played only Lubbock High. The Cubs will go into the game after losing to Idalou 49- 13 at home, looking to continue its growth as they prepare for district play.

The Banner Banquet

The Terry County Livestock Association will be hosting the Banner Banquet, Saturday, September 18 at Whitehouse Parker, Farmhouse Vineyards located at 702 Old Lamesa Road. The event is set to begin at 6 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person with 10 VIP tables available, the price of the ticket includes dinner and drinks. There will be a silent auction, which will include a $500 Sharp Shooters gift card, a live auction, that has an all-inclusive whitetail deer hunt, and music performed by Jason Nutt and Highway 70.
