Western Peanut Growers to Hold 39th Annual Business Meeting February 7th

Western Peanut Growers Association (WPGA) will be holding the 39th annual meeting on Monday, February 7, 2022, beginning at 12:00 noon at the Seminole Community Center (801 N. Main Street), in Seminole, Texas. The meeting will begin with a catered lunch starting at 11:45 a.m. The Business Meeting is expected to start shortly after noon. There will be an election of association directors for four expiring terms. Guest Speaker Dr. Joe Outlaw will be presenting an Economic Outlook for Peanuts and Agriculture, as well as providing an interesting glimpse at the 2022 Crop FSA Program Choices. We think this meetings will be beneficial for all area farmers.

This property tax information is current and covers a wide range of topics, such as taxpayer remedies, exemptions and appraisals, and has information for select groups, such as disabled veterans and persons age 65 or older.

Brisendine Arrested and Charged with Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography

The director of the Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation (BidCorp), Brian Brisendine, was arrested and charged with Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography. According to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, DPS Special Agents and FBI "worked jointly to investigate a tip on the possession and possible promotion of child pornography received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children."
