Ballot Board approves late ballot by mail for Primary

The Ballot Board met on Thursday, March 3rd at noon to process ballots by mail that were received the day after the Primary Election. Joint Elections Director Krystal Valentin said via text the Ballot Board accepted and counted six additional ballots, four Republican and one Democrat.

The Brownfield Noon Lions Club held its meeting at noon on Thursday at Coleman Park Party House for members and guests. The Noon Lions Club had two special speakers attend the meeting Anthony Ferguson and Nicholas Seaton who, along with their wives Tracy Ferguson and Katy Jane Seaton are the owners of Winehouse Parker.

LAMESA – The Brownfield Cubs won against Roosevelt today 7-6 for the Cubs first game in the Cotton Classic. The Cubs came out swinging with a total of 15 batters getting on base with 7 RBI’s. Ivan Deleon had himself a day getting on base a total of 5 times with 3 RBI’s to finish off the day, one of those coming late in the bottom of the 6 inning to put the Cubs up by 1.

Bronco golfers take second in first invitational

DENVER CITY – The Meadow boy’s and girl’s golf team played in the Plains Invitational in Yoakam County Golf course at Denver City. This was the first invitational of the season for Meadow. Broncos golfers Taylor Caswell, Bryden Smith, Niko Castaneda, Dylon Fabila, and Logan Castaneda came in second place overall. The Lady Broncos Jordan Hernandez, Adalyn Neal, Izzy Contreras, and Abi Gonzales. Head Coach Jonathon Alaniz was pleased with his team’s performance.

Five Lady Cubs selected to All District

After finishing the season with a 24-4 overall record, a 12-0 District 3-3A record and a back to back district titles the Brownfield Lady Cubs had six players selected to All District and one for Honorable Mention. Gabi Fields was named the District MVP, Deja Johnson was the Offensive MVP, and Dabria Blackwell was Defensive MVP. Tia Johnson and Lindsey Herrera were selected to All District. Brianne Franco was selected for Honorable Mention. Head Coach Michelle Wyatt was pleased with her players being selected to All District.
