The Brownfield Animal Shelter wanted to emphasize to the people living in the city of Brownfield that leashes are necessary when owning a dog. Many people do not understand that their dogs must be on a leash and chains are not viable substitutes for leashes. The Animal Shelter wanted to remind civilians that there are leash laws in town and dogs are not allowed to roam around the city. There has been a recent spike in calls for Animal Control due to people letting out their dogs to use the restroom and the dogs taking off. The chain is heavy on a dog’s neck and can cause pain to the animal.

Read moreThe Brownfield Animal Shelter is currently accepting donations and is in need of the following: Adult dog food, puppy food, cleaning supplies and leashes. Donations can be dropped off at the Police Station or Terry County Vet.
