Lady Cubs lose battle of unbeaten teams

The Brownfield softball (3-1) team hosted Lamesa in a battle for first place in District 3-3A as each team came in with a perfect 3-0 record in district. The Lady Cubs jumped out to an early 4-1 lead but could not hold off the Lady Tornadoes as they went on to defeat Brownfield 9-5.

Brownfield track and field find success at district meet

DENVER CITY – The two day district meet on Thursday, April 1 and Saturday, April 3 saw the Brownfield track and field team face off against its District 3-3A opponents for a spot in the area round. On Thursday the Lady Cubs and Cubs runners faced off in the preliminary rounds to qualify for the medal round on Saturday. For the athletes competing in the field events they won their medals on Thursday.

Vitalant hosted a Blood Drive at Brownfield Regional Medical Center parking lot Thursday, April 1 from 9-2p.m. BRMC employee Jessica Trevino (left) has her blood taken by Vitalant Tech Larinda Bland. BRMC Clinic employee Jeffery Mendoza waits as his blood is drawn in the bus. In a 5 hour span, Vitalant collected 29 pints of donated blood.
