Donald Shawn Burns

Services for Donald Shawn Burns, 56, of Brownfield were held at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating and Les Wilks assisting. Visitation was held on Monday, February 4, 2019, from 6-8 at Brownfield Funeral Home. On Friday, February 1, 2019, Shawn stepped into the arms of his Lord and Savior. He was born on October 9, 1962, in Seagraves to Glen and Jenelle Burns. The family moved to Brownfield in 1968, and he graduated from Brownfield in 1981. Shawn attended South Plains College with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. He lived a passionate life. He had so much passion for his wife and daughter, family, music, fishing, his Texas Longhorns, and his Savior, Jesus Christ. Shawn is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Jenelle Burns; brother, Eddie Glen Burns; baby daughter, Ashlyn Marie Burns and many other loved ones. Shawn is survived by his wife, Kathy Burns; daughter, Michelle Nolte and husband Kenny; grandsons, Skylar and Mason Nolte; sister, Jan Decker; nephew, Tyler Decker and wife Kristin; niece, Brooke Burson and husband Donny; mother-in-law, Mildred Jolly, sister-in-law, Gennie Turnbeaugh, niece, Nicole Turnbeaugh; nephew, JacoTurnbeaugh and wife Rachel.
