July 27, 1949 - December 21, 2018

Tommy Odell “T.O.” Ryan passed away Friday, December 21, 2018. Family and friends gathered to celebrate his life of 69 years at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018, followed by a reception at Lake Ridge Chapel. A tribute of Tommy Odell Ryan’s life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may view a broadcast of his service and leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family. Tommy Odell Ryan was born on July 27, 1949, to Smiles and Willie Johnson Ryan in Abilene, TX. Tommy married Eva Joiner Ryan on June 26, 1972, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Tommy worked for Halliburton for 38 years, then retired for a good 3 weeks before deciding to stay in the business and go to work for crest (nine) until his passing. Tommy was one of the hardest working people that a person would ever meet but aside all of the work he was constantly doing, he always made time for his greatest love, which was his family. Tommy loved spending time with his beautiful wife and especially enjoyed a recent trip they took together. His children and grandchildren were the joys of his life which he bragged to others continuously. Along with the love he shared for his family and friends, those who knew Tommy could easily say that he was also one of the most giving, even to people he didn’t know. Survivors include his wife, Eva Ryan; children, Tina Annette Bittmann and husband, Felix; John Thomas Ryan and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Hannah Christian Burns, Ashton Brady and Braylee Jade Ryan; sister, Rita Chastain Billings and husband, Bill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Smiles and Willie Faye Ryan; and brother, Robert Vance Ryan. Heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Covenant CICU 6th floor for the compassionate and professional care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Toys for Tots which ere Tommy’s preferred charitable organizations.
