Randy Lee Gongora

Funeral services for Randy Gongora, 48 of Austin, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings with Father Miguel Duarte officiating.
Randy Lee Gongora was born on April 9, 1974 in Brownfield, Texas to Pascual Gongora Jr. and Minerva (Longoria) Gongora. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 1992 and attended International Business College in Lubbock. While living in Lubbock, he became a huge Texas Tech fan. Randy worked as an IT Tech for Home Depot in Austin for 15 years. He had a heart for those that were down-and-out and would volunteer his time to serve the homeless and needy. Randy also enjoyed playing soccer, watching movies, traveling and going on adventures, and admired luxury cars. He also cherished his family and looked forward to showering them with gifts he had bought to show his love and care, especially to his niece.
Randy passed away the evening of Friday, October 21, 2022 at a hospital in Austin.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raul Longoria and Mr. and Mrs. Pascual Gongora Sr.; five uncles, Thomas Longoria, Juan Longoria, Joe Gongora, Amalio Garcia, and Robert Cantu; cousin, Martha Cantu, and puppy, Bella.
Randy is survived by his parents, Pascual and Minerva Gongora Jr. of Giddings; his sister, Rachel Gongora of Giddings; his niece, Dagyn Fleming of Giddings; aunts and uncles, Elisa Molina of Brownfield, Maria Perez of Waco, Yolanda Longoria of Brownfield, Lurden Sandoval of Giddings, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Rey of Lubbock, Josie De La O of Holland, Michigan, Tony Gongora of Brownfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Tamayo of Modesto, California, Maria Garcia of Holland, Michigan, Diane Lutz of Mesa, Arizona, Connie Bergara of Justin, Mr. and Mrs. Abel Longoria of Brownfield, Mr. and Mrs. Eloy Longoria of Brownfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ramiro Longoria of Brownfield, and numerous cousins, friends and several best friends.
Memorials may be made in Randy’s name to a local organization that supports the homeless and needy.
