Services for Pedro C. Garcia, 71, of Brownfield will be held at 10 am Thursday, March 2, 2023 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Ohlig officiating.
Viewing will be held from 10 am-8 pm on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel, with Rosary at 6 pm.
He was born on April 15, 1951, to Josephina and Santiago Garcia in Brownfield, TX.
Pete was a loving husband to his wife, Maricella, for almost fifty-five years and to their three children, Pete, Jr, Noel, and his princess Michelle. The grandchildren, though, really made his heart happy and they always brought the silly side of him out. Before he departed this life, he met his great-grandson, and his eyes lit up. Pete was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was a business owner of Brownfield Radiator Shop for over forty years. He also served the community while a member of A.T.U.C (Amigos Trabajando Unidos Committee), ran for City Councilman At-Large, and was a member of the Brownfield Housing Committee. He loved to travel and visited other countries and then he would tell us how much better life is here in America. He was always surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones. If you stopped by his shop, you needed to plan to stay for a while because the conversation was always good. There are so many stories to tell about Pete, but we would need to write a book about all his adventures. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Josephina Garcia; brother, Santiago Garcia, Jr.; sister, Norma Cantu, aunt, Carolina Cantu; uncle, Alfredo Cantu, grandparents, Jose and Katarina Garcia and Francisco and Nicolasa Contreras.
Pete is survived by his wife, Maricella V. Garcia; sons, Pedro V. Garcia Jr. (Teresa) and Noel Garcia; daughter, Michelle Garcia; honorary son, Jeff Davis (Ofelia); grandchildren, Marcos Garcia, Lorena Garcia, Matthew Garcia, MaKenzie Bunney (Stephen), Macy Garcia, Morgan Allen, Jordan Hernandez, Mia Hernandez and Jeffery Davis, Jr; great grandchild, Knox Bunney; siblings, Mary Lou Franco (Rosendo, deceased), Olga Luche (David), Rosa Losey (Stephen), Elva Garcia, Lia De La Cruz (Danny), Juanita Lopez (Reynaldo), Cynthia Gonzales (Abraham), Elisa Pierce (Kelly, deceased), Kathy Flores (Gilbert), Delma Cantu, Laura Pacheco (Raymond), Alfredo Cantu (Kimberly), Ruby Infante, Peter Dominguez, Baldemar Garcia and Esmeralda Lopez (Richard).
