Lloyd Davis, 79, passed away in Lubbock, Texas on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 20, 1941 in Lamesa, Texas to parents, Elzie and Myrtle (Comer) Davis. The family lived in O’Donnell, until 1957. He grew up and attended school there, moved to Welch and graduated in 1959. He married the love of his life, Kay Driver on April 22, 1960. He was a member of the National Guard for 8 years from 1959 to 1967. His sole passion in life was farming where he worked alongside his brother Floyd for 52 years and his grandson Hayden for the last 10 years. Lloyd also served on the Board of Directors of TriCounty Producers Coop Gin in Loop, Texas (formerly Windham Coop Gin of Brownfield, Texas) for 48 years from 1972 to 2020. He had the privilege of serving alongside his grandson Hayden for the past four years. Of all his greatest qualities, Lloyd loved to talk and he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He never met a stranger. He was a man of great faith, practiced his walk with the Lord daily, and loved his family dearly. He would give the shirt off his back to help others and always put others first.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay of Lamesa; son Marty Davis and wife, Sheila of Lovington, New Mexico; son Kirk Davis and wife, Denise of Welch, Texas; granddaughter Morgan and husband, Chase of Eastland, Texas; granddaughter Bridgette York and husband, John of Lubbock, Texas; grandson Hayden Davis and wife, Sara of Welch, Texas; granddaughter Danielle Holdsworth and husband, Brandon of Norman, Oklahoma; and great grandchildren Grayson, Hannah, Haylen, and Avery; brother Larry Davis and wife, Susan of Weatherford, Texas; and sister Louise Westfall and husband Richard, of Lubbock, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as a stillborn brother, Chester Lee Davis in 1938; his stillborn daughter Kristi D’Ann Davis in 1969; his twin brother Floyd Davis in 2017, and his grandson Taylor Grant Davis in 2017. The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the men who served with Lloyd on the gin board in his final years - Randy Reid (manager), Randy Simpson, Kalith Brown, Cody Ellison, Glenn Martin, and Ricky Mills and his many lifelong friends.
