Larry Don LaBadie

Memorial services for Larry LaBadie was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Abundant Harvest Church in Brownfield, Texas. Larry went to his eternal home early Friday morning surrounded by his loving family. Larry Don LaBadie was born August 9, 1951 in Brownfield, TX to Leo and Ouida LaBadie. He graduated Dimmitt High School in 1970. Larry owned the Gulf Station for many years before working 20 years in the oilfield. Larry had a passion for young people and opened “The Scoreboard” where he spent hours playing pool, pinball, and video games with the youth of Terry County. Larry married the love of his life, Lesa Jo Carey on August 5, 1971. His family was his greatest pride and joy. He was his kids and grandkids biggest fan and could always be heard cheering them on. Survivors include his wife, Lesa of Brownfield; daughters, Kristen Shiver and husband Scott of Brownfield, Keri Riley and husband Chris of Sundown, and son Kurtis LaBadie and wife Jill of Slaton. He was Grandad to 10 grandchildren; Blake Cox, Ty Cox, Faith Cox, Devin Jordan, Brett LaBadie and wife Leandra, Malloree LaBadie, Tehya LaBadie, Raegan LaBadie, Karlee Riley and Kadee Riley; and two great-grandchildren; Aries Robinson and Kambree LaBadie. Larry is also survived by three sisters, Freida Riley and husband John of Dublin, Debby Metcalf and husband Jerry of Brownfield and Edna Stowe of Snyder, and two brothers: Joe LaBadie of Lubbock and David Howell of Brownfield. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Interim Healthcare for their love and compassion and also multitudes of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, our request would be to spend time with those you love.
