Betty McCalib

Betty McCalib of Eunice, New Mexico formerly of Brownfield, Texas passed away August 4, 2020 with loved ones by her side as well as the ladies who had taken such excellent care of her the last few months of her life. She loved to visit with people and kept her memory until the very last week. In her 91 years she had a lot of stories to tell. Betty loved to play bingo and quarter machines and would go regularly to play until her body wouldn’t let her anymore. She married J.E. McCalib Jr. in March 1948 and spent 43 years together until his passing in June of 1991. Betty worked for the ASCS office for 12 years, and McCalib services for 25 years. Betty is survived by her daughter, Barbara Winters, sister Vera Betties both of Eunice, grandchildren Jackie Winters, Jerrie Rimer, Micky McCalib, Mitchell McCalib, Roy “Shorty” McCalib Jr. and Shanda Hathcock as well as numerous great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and other extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, sons Howard and Roy McCalib and grandson Jessie Winters. A viewing will be held at Griffin Funeral Home on Monday, August 10, 2020 from 10am-1pm. Burial will take place at a later date in Brownfield, Texas.
