Edward Jerome Head passed away peacefully in his home in Plains, Friday evening, January 24, 2020, at the age of 82 where he was surrounded by family. He was born in Grapevine, Tx on August 3, 1937; adopted and raised by his parents Odell and Myrtle head, he grew up in West Texas and graduated from New Home High School on May 20, 1955. He then went on and started his farming career in the Needmore area. After several years of farming, Jerome joined the Army and was stationed in Alaska during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He met his wife of 57 years, Jeannette Colleen Perez in Plamer Alaska and they were married in 1962. They moved to Plains in 1964 where he went back to his one true passion of farming and went on to have two children and remained on the same farm all these years.

He was born on November 17, 1930 in Jester, Oklahoma to C.D. and Effie Mae Haston. Jimmie graduated from Plainview High School. He then served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Jimmie completed his education with a Master’s from Texas Tech University. He married Geraldine “Jerry” Caudell on June 2, 1957 in Briscoe. He was a science teacher for more than 25 years. He was passionate about his teaching and wanted all of his students to further their education. Jimmie was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a jokester with a dry sense of humor. He was always joking and kidding around, even up until the end. Jimmie is preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Haston, parents, C.D. and Effie Mae Haston, brother and his wife, Cleo and Jennifer Haston, and sister-in-law, Mary Haston. Jimmie is survived by his four children, Debbie Williams and husband, Art, of Dallas, Janet Quinones and husband, Balo, of Dallas, Jim Bob Haston and wife, Robyn, of Anton, Shonda and husband, Craig; five grandchildren, Maegan Ruiz, Chandler Perry, Justin Haston, Chelsea Turner, Jordan Haston and Cole; two great grandchildren, Jude Ruiz and Murphy Ruiz; three sisters, Ruth Norwood, Kay Stern, Norma Turner; and a brother, Frank Haston.
