Texas Tech University has announced that it will cut almost $7 million from the athletic budget due to the COVID-19 virus. Texas Tech like the rest of the nation has had to halt all sports competitions because federal, state and local governments have put in place strict guidelines about people being in places together, especially large groups to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Read moreOn Thursday April 30 at 12:27 p.m. Brownfield Fire and Rescue was called out to Sixth St and Bridges St. for a vehicle that rolled over into a bar-ditch. According to Brownfield Police Dept. Lt. Rene Siller, the driver of the gray Toyota Corolla, was traveling south on Railroad Ave. which has a caliche surface. When approaching the curve at the end of Railroad Ave, which turns into Bridges St, the Corolla began to slide and entered into the ditch where the Corolla then flipped over once. The two occupants denied medical treatment from BRMC paramedics. The Brownfield PD, Fire & Rescue, and the BRMC Paramedics responded to the scene.
