The Brownfield City Council met Thursday morning for a brief scheduled meeting to discuss a few items on the agenda. Council members Kelli Mendez, J.C. Tijerina, Celso Duran, Leon Pope, Marshall Martell, Mark Williams and Jimmy Garza were all present on the quorum, along with City Manager Jeff Davis, City Secretary Kelly Burris, City Attorney Matt Wade and Mayor Tom Hesse.

Several members of Meadow’s One Act team received individual honors as well. Andrea Fraire received Honorable Mention All-Star Cast. Kate Smith and Elvis Rodriguez received All-Star Cast. Dylan Paiva and Kyren Howard earned Best Performers. Meadow’s actors were not the only ones to receive honors as Joey Harrington received Outstanding Individual Technical Crew. Outstanding Technical Group was awarded to Michael Simental, Kyle Woodard and Harrington. The Meadow One Act Play team will advance to the Bi-District Competition at Post Auditorium against Whiteface, Grady, Wellman-Union, Whitharral and Sands.
