Good news for Texas drivers: gas prices dropped 1.7 cents in the past week, averaging $2.86/g on Monday. Texas gas prices are 1.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago, but 86.3 cents lower than a year ago. Gas prices in Brownfield currently range from $2.73 to $2.79. According to Gas- Buddy price reports, the cheapest station in Texas was priced at $2.45/g yesterday while the most expensive was $3.99/g, a difference of $1.54/g. The lowest price in the state yesterday was $2.45/g while the highest was $3.99/g, a difference of $1.54/g. The national average price of gasoline has risen 2.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.29/g. The national average is down 5.5 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 97.5 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

I, Karen Grigsby, your current County Treasurer, am formally announcing my retirement at the end of my term, December 31, 2022. I came to work for Terry County July 1, 2002 as a Deputy Clerk in the Tax Accessor Collector’s office under the Honorable Redelle Martin. I worked as a Second Deputy and then a First Deputy in that office for over three years before transitioning to First Deputy Assistant Treasurer in the Treasurer’s office under the Honorable Bobbye Jo Floyd in November of 2005. I worked as Assistant Treasurer for Bobbye Jo for eight years until her retirement at the end of 2014. I will always credit her for giving me the knowledge, training and experience to run for this office and be elected as your County Treasurer January 1, 2015. I have been so blessed and honored to have served as your County Treasurer for the last almost eight years and want to thank the citizens of the County for putting your trust in me to hold this office. It has been the best, most fulfilling job I have ever had. I will have over twenty years with Terry County at the end of my term next year and have enjoyed serving the citizens, other County offices, Officials and employees during these years. Again, thank you all for the privilege and honor of serving Terry County.

The Meadow Lady Broncos match up against the Loop Lady Longhorns set for Tuesday night has been cancelled. The Loop Lady Longhorns have made the decision to pull out of District play because of injuries.
